What was supposed to be a simple skin material test turned into this awesome illustration based on the latest Tomb Raider
I really enjoyed the chance to render again and it was so amazing how all my different skill sets came together to finish this piece off. As I worked on this image, I focused on primarily on creating motion and a sense of depth. As for the skin: I found the perfect bump maps and settings for SSS (Subsurface Scattering) to give it realism! The hair has also been completely painted by me with my tablet and I really surprised myself how much of a knack I have for painting hair. Now that I have my tablet, I couldn't stand dealing with that fake polygon hair... *shivers*... it had to be fixed.
